Waited till now to pay tribute to Jonathan and still not sure I can do him justice. My first/eldest nephew and impossible to summarise everything I feel and remember. Extremely intelligent and thoughtful young man - young/old always a relative term. He could turn even serious conversations into funny, humerous, disrespectful and, finally, hilarious situations. Never biased, Jonathan, would wind up anyone!! Age, religion, race, height, weight, or anything else did not bother Jonathan. Everyone was there for him to take the mick out of but he was NEVER nasty. Anyone who met Jonathan took to him straight away. His laugh was infectious, his love was obvious, his compassion was unreserved even when things went bad for him. Still raw, many tears already spent and no doubt many more to come but pleased for the memories and being able to love him.

I had the greatest pleasure to meet Jonathan through my husband (Uncle Peter) and have only fond memories of a very funny, witty, intelligent, knowledgeable, loving gentle man. He made me laugh on many occasions and always had a smile. You will be greatly missed by everyone Jonathan. Rest in peace, beautiful soul

Infectiously funny, larger than life, infuriating, gregarious, intelligent, but mostly lovable with a romantic soul. I’ll miss your wonderful laugh. You’ve left me with some memorable sayings, not always appropriate. Wish I’d known you longer Jonathan.

In absolute loving and caring memory of Jonny Henderson, a fellow archaeologist and dirt digger who worked with Richard Sermon at the Department of Urban Archaeology, from 1988 - 1990.

Thank you for always being you and staying true to yourself, your opinions and beliefs.

Goodbye, dear Jonny!
